Visa Application Procedures for New Students at Chiang Mai University

New Students’ Enrollment Process
After being accepted, new students must complete the official enrollment process as follows:-
For Undergraduate Students or Below:

Check the announcement of admission results on the CMU-IPAS website.

Accept the offer via the CMU-IPAS system at https://admission.reg.cmu.ac.th/ipas/main/

Visa Document Request via CMU-IPAS System
Once enrollment is complete, students must submit their information through the VISA Online for Students (CMU-IPAS) system at https://ird.cmu.ac.th/visa-online/-
Only accepted undergraduate students are eligible to request visa documents.

Only registered graduate students are eligible.

Late applications will not be processed. Please strictly follow the deadlines.

For visa document requests outside the official university period, please contact the International Relations Office directly.

International Relations Staff

Applications will be reviewed, and visa documents will be issued.

If clarification is needed, staff will contact the relevant faculty.

If document revisions are necessary, students must contact their host faculty directly.

Students

Approved visa support documents can be downloaded from the system.

The visa support document is valid for 60 days from the issued date.

Students must apply for a student visa at the Thai Embassy or Consulate within this period before the document expires, or apply online via the e-VISA system at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/

Visa Extension Procedures

Contact the International Relations Officer of your faculty to submit your information for visa extension. The following documents are required:
a. Passport (photo page with student information)
b. Current address in Thailand
c. Details of the academic program
d. Academic progress report or official transcript
e. Immigration form TM.7 with a 3 x 4 cm photo
f. Service fee of 1,900 THB
